Unexpected Details at The Perfect Rug Photoshoot

September 23rd, 2010

Curious to know what goes on behind the scenes during a photo shoot for a rug? A few weeks ago, we helped out at the shoot for The Perfect Rug’s new product line. The day started off with the rugs being brought by movers to the shoot location, home in San Francisco, at 8 AM. Lisa and Nicole from The Perfect Rug were already inside, moving furniture and setting up the living and dining room for the rugs to be put in. The next step was to decide which home accessories (pillows, table decorations, and flowers) the rug would go well with. When people are flipping through a home catalog, they might not realize all the details that go into making a room look like the way it does. Every little thing has to be considered: lighting, matching and contrasting accessories, and position of items so that the room looks “lived in”. Multiple shots have to be taken when different accessories are added in to determine which does and does not work. Since we shot in an actual house, space had to also be considered. The living room was split in half so two rooms would be created in one and space would be utilized. Five hours and three room shots later, we all sat back, reveled by the rugs beauty and coordination. We marveled at the fact that one rug can change an entire room and ultimately, change people’s living style.

Height Matters!

August 12th, 2010

Many remember lining their heels up against a wall, tipping their chin slightly up to gain an inch, as our parents kept track of our height with the passing years. However, sometimes families move or walls are painted, and those tally marks disappear with new improvements. Kidlandia offers a customized canvas growth chart that can be hung and re-hung wherever you and your family embark to.

Holiday Flare

August 12th, 2010

Holiday cards are a popular way of sending friends and loved ones a little snapshot of how photogenic your family can be posed in front of that oh-so-familiar scenic landscaping draped in the background. Holiday photo cards are typically very similar, in the way most all share cliché greetings and glossy colors. However, Hello!Lucky offers an array of customized cards, complete with quirky doodles, detailed bordering, and warm color schemes. Just choose an intimate, candid photo, apply desired customizations, and you have yourself a unique holiday card to send out to your extended family.
